plan for encryption of drives:
Mac - encrypting mac hard drive is questionable. encrypting throwaway laptop drives is pointless, as long as regularly re-installing Kali from jump drive, which seems like a great approach so far.
revise persistent kali thumb drive to have e.g. lastpass and openvpn connector information, and to be encrypted
- carry that around as your private operating system thumb drive
new kali thumb drive to install kali on machines with - stock Kali operating system
jumpdrive needs:
- stock kali for reinstalling on the twins and other places
- custom/personal kali
- finnix (rescue operating system) on thumb drive
- usb for casual transfer of files ("throwaway", colorful)
- 64 gb treasure box
- can possibly make a kali 64 gb treasure box
To revise:
- 16 gb or smaller colorful "throwaway" (DONE)
- 16 gb ubuntu (have iso)
- 16 gb finnix (have iso)
- 16 gb stock kali (DONE)
- 64 gb custom kali and tools box (have iso)
- 64 gb custom kali and backups box (have iso)
