Was reading this book alongside the Naxos Ulysses audiobook. I had also prefaced my re-reading of Ulysses by re-read several Dubliners stories ("Araby", "Two Gallants", "Ivy Day in the Committee Room", "Grace", and "The Dead") that tie in to Ulysses. Not intentional - but extremely helpful. It's a good reminder that one should not undertake reading Joyce lightly; reading Dubliners is a more graceful way to get you back into Joyce mode.
