  • at first, everything seems okay

major privacy red flags:

  • "say ok google" - i did - and then it sprang open. like, the fucking microphone is on always.
  • turning that off took 15 minutes of fumbling with settings
  • while doing that, i found so many privacy settings that I was not comfortable with, just randomly scattered all over the settings, all set to maximize the amount of information that's being collected about you. makes me sick.

broken wallpapers:

  • initially, updated the phone and restarted.
  • tried changing wallpaper. wallpaper app kept crashing. brand new stock phone, had installed zero apps on it, only connected to wifi, and it was not working.
  • eventually another update notification popped up. updated phone, restarted, wallpaper app worked.

stupid updates:

  • each time it updates, it increments by one version, so I have to do five updates if I am behind by five versions. I'm on update number four now.
  • This is an idiotic waste of my time. It also doesn't notify me of updates right away. I have to manually go in and check for updates if I want to get the whole stupid process over with.
