What is Graphite? It is a tool for building time series databases and displaying the results via dashboards.

Installing

Just use Docker.

Easy as using netcat:

$ echo "foo.bar 1 `date +%s`" | nc localhost 2003

The web app is how you explore your metrics.

Grafana is how you soup things up and trick things out for dashboards.
